36 Aland street is 4 bedroom house developed for the Department of Public Housing, Charters Towers on the narrow and sloping site. The project intent was to deliver an innovative and climate responsive design outcome that would bring delight to the end users. Building is based on 3 x3m² light weight structure grid module. Due to the difficult north - south site orientation, the diffuse light access to the interiors has been provided with the well shaded and continuous high level polycarbonate cladding thus reducing the requirements for low level east and west facing windows. Expected completion is by end of 2009.

The project is developed for a corner north - easterly block of land in upcoming suburb of Fairfield Waters. The clients brief was to create a design outcome that works with the irregular site shape and provides well shaded and ventilated building interiors. The central feature of the design outcome is the spine wall that leads visitor from the entry garden through the entire building. The design opens living areas to north - easterly breezes and caters for number of quality outdoor areas.

Palm Street is the future residence of one of our established clients. Located in the waterfront suburb of Rowes Bay, Townsville the project represents a form of contemporary beach house. The sculptural approach to the design is driven by the building functionality. The glazed ground level is elevated above the entry driveway and extends to the street to form a large patio with a lap pool at its edge. The more enclosed upper level is wrapped around a central void space finishing with a cantilevered master bedroom above the main entry.

Gen 01 is a design prototype for a high end sustainable outcome in tropical architecture. The modular prefabricated steel design utilises the building roof as an active sun tracking device providing a self sufficient energy supply to the dwelling.

The project represents transformation of a dilapidated old residence into a contemporary tropical home. The addition of a new wing provides a studio apartment at the ground level and a larger study room on the upper level. An extensive elevated outdoor deck area creates a link between the new building and the refurbished part of the original house. The design maximises the dominant views to Castle Hill at the same time providing a well shaded naturally ventilated environment.

Owens residence is a refurbishment of a dilapidated house into a modern contemporary residence. Existing building structure and roof were recycled while a new wing was added allowing for the integration of living and outdoor areas with the north facing gardens.

The project represents a substantial extension to an existing duplex site. The street frontage of the building was retained with minor modifications while a new 2 level extension provides a link with the north facing rear of the property. The achieved integration between new open plan living areas and the original building has transformed the original dilapidated residence into a luxurious contemporary home.
